APOD #3

I'm going to try and get on a better track here so that I'm not taking the last photo, downloading, writing the post and uploading all on the same day. Today will run from Sunday through Friday. Starting next week it will run Saturday through Friday with posting on Saturday. I had even thought about posting it each day (actually the day after). What do you think?

January 20: Pan's grandmother was an artist. This is one of her smaller paintings. We are lucky to have quite a number of them gracing our home. Some still need to be framed and some need to be reframed. I think I will wait for that until we paint the interior again.

January 21: We live in Florida and how can you live in Florida and not have a collection of shells. Truth be told, though, I don't think any one of these shells are from the Gulf Coast. More likely they were picked up in California or Guam. One was a gift. I probably need to take a picture of the large one that's holding the shells all by itself, it has a beautiful mother-of-pearl.

January 22: Several of the photos this week are for a challenge I'm doing at Gotta Pixel. One of which was to take a picture of a cemetary. I had never been to this one before and both the Princess and I were quite taken by it. Instead of rows, the tombstones are set in a circular fashion, at least in this area. It is a relatively new cemetary so exploring did not seem to be viable. No history and besides it was raining.

January 23: Another photo challenge picture. This time something blue. This is our 5 gallon aquarium which houses just one fish... a male beta. It has a pirate scene and ship in it and Eregon spends most of his time hiding in the ship. Placed within the aquarium is a blue light. You can see its reflection at the bottom. And the background is blue too, LOL.

January 24: They can be found everywhere now, but 17 years ago when I bought my ceramic jar, they could only be found in specialty shops. Mine says "Ashes of Obnoxious Teenagers." And it is filled with... what else, but ashes. Was a great conversation piece when the kids friends would come over. They would laugh about it until it was opened and there really were ashes in it. Funny, they were quite well-behaved around the house.

January 25: Ah yes, another photo challenge photo. This one was suppose to be of "horses." We have a horse farm just a couple of blocks away, but it has been raining all week and they were not where I could get a picture. Today would have been perfect, except Pan has my truck to get sod (and no, I will not drive his truck around, unless it is absolutely necessary). So I was in a quandry. What do I do about getting a picture of a horse, when I remembered the box of seahorses I had in my drawer. Pose them on a bit of sponge and there you have it. The sponge and seahorses both came from Gulf Shores, nearly 20 years ago.

Love the take on the horses! I'm saving up the pics from the month and doing the collage thing. I say do whatever you have time for. I'm finding its getting harder to do the pics!

What a great idea to do it all in one post. I'm finding it hard to keep up with the photo of the day. I remember to take the photo but the downloading and uploading takes some time. I may try doing it your way soon.

(This is my fourth or fifth attempt, so I hope it's not redundant commenting.)

I love the idea that you have Pan's grandmother's paintings in your home. Wonderful family heirlooms.

Really great photos. I love the cemetary one especially. For some reason that I don't THINK is morbid :) I'm really fascinated by cemetaries. That one looks beautiful!

Tink - I am SO sorry to hear about your computer woes, but sounds like Pan and Microsoft will have a handle on it in NO time!!! LOL! More likely it'll be Pan than Microsoft!!! Sorry.

LOVE the way you've posted the week's worth of photos and I, too, think that it is WONDERFUL having family art hanging about! I need to get NEW frames for them, but four out of six of my kiddos took oil painting classes back when we homeschooled and I just ADORED having their paintings "hanging around" the house - sometimes in duplicate! Now, they are still "hanging around", just not on the walls! ROFL!

Thank you for visiting me and making me LMBO, especially when Pan was trying to trade places with you as "supervisor"!!!

Dinner and drinks sounds WONDERFUL!!! Robert and I did the same just today, only HERE at home!!! He spoiled me with breakfast, movies, a YUMMY steamed artichoke for lunch and dinner ... EEEEKS, would you believe "wine and chocolate"??? I, like you, am not a real chocolate lover but we were gifted with some Almond Roca and a Ghirardelli gift basket from the kids visit yesterday and well ... you know, we just HAD to pretend we enjoyed it all!!! I eat candy twice a year - at Halloween and at Christmastime! Guess I made up for the whole year today!!!

I ENVY all of your reading! If I weren't SO busy at trying this designing thing, I'd be back to doing a lot of reading myself. Unfortunately, I am not good at reading a book without wanting to finish it before going on to something else. Now I just seem to sort of "spot" read for lack of a better term. You know, when I need to look something up or my curiosity is peaked! I tend to read more articles as of late! I can read through them rather quickly, feel enlightened (or not!) and then be back to designing or blog hopping!!!

Have a DELIGHTFUL week ahead girlfriend and here's hoping that your "Vista" be a breathtaking one!

BIG HUGS,
Linda
