This is my "mean look"

"I'm ignoring you, kind of". ~kfkap

Yep he is starting to really get annoyed. Just look at those squinty eyes, the flaired nose and the fact that is ears are not flattened. He can't fool me. He just wants me to believe that he is a baaad cat.

Happy Birthday Scamp

Hard to believe my middle child is now 34. Where has the time gone? I look back at the sweet little boy all bundled up in a blanket and think to the now when he is a grown man with a family of his own. Happy Birthday, Son.

Run away

Still keeping up with it. And trying to make sure that I drink plenty of water throughout the day. Not usually tough. Since I start the day with a glass of the stuff and keep it going. This time, though, I actually counted the number of glasses of water (and the amount) that I drank during the day. While I'm running my mantra is not "I think I can," but "overweight grandmother who knows she can." At least it starts out that way, then I slip by into the "1, 2, 3, 4" routine over and over again.

My "I'm going to eat you" side

"I'm related to the King of the Beasts, you know"~kfkap

He thinks he is so cool, but look at that nose. Someone should tell him he needs a nose job and soon. I'm going to have to be careful now, he really is getting annoyed with me.

My Bad Side

"What did I tell you about the pictures? Soon you're gonna get it."~kfkap
I just love this. He is constantly annoying me. Now is payback time. The closer, the better. But sometimes we will have to just make do with flashing lights in his face.

January 16, found me on day two of my commitment to better health. And I am pleased that I had stayed on schedule with 30 minutes of running in place. Do love my Wii Fit. Funny, though, I had someone ask how I could possibly run in place without a workout machine. I can't imagine trying to get on a workout machine and run. Different strokes for different folks.

My Good Side

"I will allow this one photo, but don't go thinking you can take more. You know how I detest the paparazzi. And you can be most annoying about taking pictures. Just ask your kids and grandkids."~kfkap
Some photos for my "Stupid Cat" photo album that I am developing for myself. If I have to put up with the cat I deserve some pleasure for it and take that pleasure by following him around to get the photos. LOL

Commitments, Goals, Resolutions

Another year and I'm still late on my resolutions. This year no resolutions, but a commitment and a goal. And it should be one I can do. Keeping my diabetes under wraps. I was starting to slip last year and I definitely don't want to make a habit of it. But going through pictures, the only one I could find that didn't have a dozen pictures in it was of me and Indy at the beach. Thanks daughter (I think) for capturing this one. Yep we were taking a walk along the beach. So at least I was getting some exercise in. Funny how December seems to be the time I do the most walking.... Beaches, theme parks, visiting.

Though I did not include it on the page, one of my goals is to document my progress through scrapbooking. Maybe not everyday or even once a week, but at least once a month. And each will include a motivational picture from MotiveWeight.blogspot.com to keep me motivated.

The beach

December was unseasonably warm and when the kids got here, daughter, Indy and I headed out to the beach for fun and pictures. I think Indy looks so cute with the way his mother fixed his hair. Doesn't look like an 8 year old though.

Thinking ahead part 5

This is the one I was really leaning towards but I can't seem to get the center lightened up without ruining the whole picture. Guess I will have to work on it some more or get a better one next year.

Thinking ahead part 4

I do love these old fashioned glass ornaments and although you can't tell in this picture, I have added a watercolor filter to it. I do like that it is the only ornament that you can really see and the sparkle of lights around really highlight him.

Thinking ahead part 3

From my tree, a glass ornament that I got from my mom. I do like that you can see some of the other ornaments in the background.

Thinking ahead part 2

Can't take credit for this picture. ddpuppies took this one of her own tree and sent it to me. I like that you can see the tulle garland better as well as the ribbon garland.

Thinking ahead

or at least trying too. For the next five days, I will be posting those Christmas pictures I am considering for next years cards. May seeing them on the blog, I can get a better idea of which I want to use. Feel free to let me know which you like the best.

This one I took of ddpuppies tree when were there on Christmas day. Love the colors, ornaments and the tulle garland.

Who wants spam when

you can have canned unicorn meat. The princess was not real thrilled when she opened the gift, especially when we got the can open and it was filled with stuffed unicorn parts, LOL. Pan has the most wicked sense of humor. We made up for it later when she opened "Fluffy" from Despicable Me.

You would have died laughing at watching us try to open the container though. Both the Princess and Pan tried prying the top off and finally broke down and had me use a can opener on it. Can opener didn't work either. Just put holes in the top. But then I noticed something and pulled the bottom off and out dropped unicorn parts.

A happy boy

After getting Indy a slew of x-box games, he called and told us his x-box was broken. That a game had gotten stuck inside. Well, with having bought all those games, we had no choice but to get another x-box. (I must admit I really like the newer xboxes). He was thrilled with his present from Santa, even more than when he opened his netbook later. The netbook is now near the top of favorite gifts as that is what he uses to skype us everyday. But I still think the x-box is number 1 and not just for him.

A little surprise in a big box

The Princess will tell you was just putting on an act when she unwrapped this box. I will tell you different. She was genuinely happy to get the "Extreme Chores video game".

For those of you who shop Think Geek, you will recognize this gag box immediately. For those who don't you should. I have already posted a picture of the phone case we bought her from Shutterfly, but then heard tell that someone told her we bought one. In order to disguise the gift, Pan ordered some gag boxes to pack hers and the daughter's case in (daughter's box was 100 1'-long extension cords, hahahaha).

I am glad she liked the box and more importantly the real gift inside.

Speaking of ddpuppies

I had not been around when this picture was taken. Probably a good thing too, as I am sure I would have added a few comments on how short she has gotten. The Princess will not be borrowing any more of her shoes or clothes and I don't think Indy would really want to borrow any, LOL. Soon, even he will be towering over her. Just give him a year or so. But right now we can just enjoy the stepladder effect of the three of them together.

It shrank

Or at least that is what Pan swears happened when he decided that I needed to buy him the "One Ring" to replace his now much smaller wedding band. Actually he bought it and then told me it was my Christmas gift to him.

Fortunately ddpuppies decided she needed a picture of it. I don't know why I didn't think of the same, but I am grateful that she did. (personally, I think it was just a chance to practice more with her new camera).

Some things are worth waiting for

In All the Days
In all the days that have come forth since,
A mindful thought of simple penance.
For so much we owe to hose that give
Our lives lessons that each day we live.
For mother a happy thought arises
Of care and hope in differing guises,
So that we may grow in future state
A purposed man with a loving mate.
Father teaches of sciences and thought,
and maths and dreams, both made and bought.
A learned m an from these does grows
To provide for a wife with that he knows
For so much we owe to those that gave
The strength and passion and thought to save
A future hope, that in our love has reached
The simple peace that you have bequeathed.
From and son and wife, an ode is written,
About gifts of wit and wisdom given.
A grateful wife for the son made a man
by the love and care and life's lessons
Taught by his parents, Tink and Pan

The Holidays are Over

Holidays are over and it is now time to start thinking about the future and get back into blogging again. Above is the Christmas gift Pan and I received from Nuke and MiLady. They composed the poem and designed the background (the white ferret represents Nuke, while the red bunny is MiLady) then had it painted (there is another word for it, but for the life of me I can't recall it right now).

There was some concern as to whether it would ever arrive. They sent it well before Christmas by priority mail. And, while I realize, they had insured it, something like this cannot be replaced easily. It finally made it a couple of days after Christmas, while we were at lunch (of course) and was sitting on the front stoop.

Tomorrow I will post a close-up.

For my B-I-L

When we would meet the daughter in Opelika for the kid exchange we always parked on the other side of the Olive Garden so I didn't realize they had an AU store right there. This time it was crowded and so we had to drive around to the other side. Low and behold..."THE STORE". I was so excited I took a picture and texted it to my sister and BIL immediately. Next time we have there name I know where I'm going shopping. :)
