This could actually be a twofold question for me. Since our children are all grown up we could, in essence, just have a picnic for two. That being the case I will address both picnics.
With the kids and grands here, the ideal picnic would be held at one of the many parks we have around here. There would be time for playing on the playground or splashing around the water for the little ones and tables, seats and plenty of shady trees for all the adults to sit around and talk. Dinner would consist of fried drummettes, potato salad, deviled eggs and plenty of fruit. Water, tea, soda and beer would be available to quench any thirst.
But if we are talking about just Pan and myself, the picnic would be held on the boat just at sunset. Pan would be qrilling steaks; while I fixed a salad or tomatoes and mozzarella slices splashed with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Pan would probably be sipping on a beer while I had a glass of red wine to compliment the meal. We would watch the sun go down and the stars come out as we consumed out meal. Afterwards, we would either talk or if we brought some books along, read. What better way to end a day or a picnic.

Both picnics sound great but the boat picnic sounds sooooo romantic!
