Well darlin', I am MOST impressed! Two posts in one day!

Hmmmm ... I am not good at naming favorites because I am not really given to favorites as I, too, have SOOOOO many! LOL!

We have Hellfighters - pretty good movie. Robert is a DIEHARD John Wayne fan as was my father! Sometimes I think Robert is my father re-incarnated! LOL! Just kidding really as we were very estranged for MANY years, his doing) The older we get, the more similarities I see in the two of them! ALL good, of course! *smile* I think this is a way for me to remember the GOOD things about a man who was not really a father to his daughter. Boy, I am talkative today, aren't I? ROFL!

I have found over the years that I am drawn to movies based on true events or that are lighthearted and comical in nature, such as (and not in any particular order!):

ENOUGH - Jennifer Lopez and Billy Campbell (very intense but VERY familiar)

PATCH ADAMS - Robin Williams, Monica Potter, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Peter Coyote and Daniel London (the first movie I've ever watched to make me toggle between tears and laughter multiple times!)

ANNE OF GREEN GABLES/ANNE OF AVANLEA (sequel) - Colleen Dewhurst, Richard Farnsworth and Megan Follows (counts as two!)

FIFTY FIRST DATES - Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore (lighthearted comedy and VERY sweet with a touch of "R-rated" behavior" yet it touches my heart in a profound way and one of the rare few that I can watch multiple times without leaving before it's over and will always shed a few tears!)

THE HURRICANE - Denzel Washington (LOVE this man's acting and my baby sister has been to he and his wife's home! Just saw this one for the first time while passing through the living room a week or so ago as my youngest was watching - I could not leave the room!)

SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE - Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton and Keanu Reeves (Great storyline and happy-ending to LOVE the second-time around or so! Love the dry humor!)

NORTH TO ALASKA - John Wayne, Stuart Granger, Ernie Kovacs, Fabian and Capucine (this one is REALLY sweet!)

INDEPENDENCE DAY - Will Smith, Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum, Mary McDonnell and MORE big names! (I remember the VERY first time I saw this movie. Again, one that had me crying and laughing!)

THE PERFECT STORM - George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg and Diane Lane (this has a VERY memorable meaning to me as I watched it outdoors while visiting my sister and family in Minnesota - it actually stormed as we were viewing it at a neighborhood outdoor "mock" theater hosted by neighbors - my sister presented me with the video as we departed for the airport for my return trip to California)

Okay, I apologize for the lengthy post Tink! Did you PROMPT, or WHAT girlfriend??? He, he ...

HUGGINS',
Linda :)

Isn't 12 Angry Men just great? That's one we had in common.

I love the Hellfighters. That and McLintock are 2 of my favorite John Wayne movies. I just saw 12 angry men the other day and that was a good one too.

Great list and layout.

Can't believe The Princess Bride isn't on that list.

Most quotable movie ever made :-)
