A lawless time

Mon 6/29 Blog Prompt: “Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws.” ~Plato. Do you find Plato’s statement to be as accurate today as they were nearly 2000 years ago?

It is unfortunate that these words spoken 2000 years ago are still as true today as they were then. If they were not we wouldn’t have need of a judicial system or jails. But yet we still need the laws. We need to set a standard of what is acceptable and what is unacceptable and to provide appropriate punishment for those who “find their way around the law.”

I'm afraid that with strict gun laws, the honest people won't have guns but the bad guys still will.
