Keeping busy would be a matter of great importance

Fancy Pants by She's Full of Scrap

Woooo Whooo, it's Friday. And do you know what that means? Absolutely nothing. Just another Friday in a long list of Friday's. But I do plan on keeping myself busy and entertained today. And when Pan gets home we can continue our Dark Shadows marathon.

Vacation - June 12 Part 3

Okay, I admit it. I did not take nearly as many pictures as I wanted. This was a FUN vacation and time to spend with the grands. After Harry Potter, we spent the rest of the morning at Universal Studios visiting Shrek 4-D, Revenge of the Mummy, Men in Black (I scored 260725 points so we passed when they were all totalled up), Simpson's, E.T. Adventure and the Terminator 2 3-D. Lunch Time.

Bento Box in the Heartland is a good read

I still need to buy the book for The Princess. Although she is only half Asian, she can relate to what Linda Furiya says in her book. Reminder: Buy it this weekend for The Princess. It's funny, but I think most teenage girls can probably relate to what is in the book, whether they are Asian or not.

Vacation - June 12 Part 2

OMG, Indy asks to have his picture taken so he can point to the cobras on the arch over his head as we head over to Hogsmead. Once there, we got into line for the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride. Indy really liked seeing the pensive while The Princess was not to sure about all the spiders about. Both kids liked the ride, which is good since it is one of my favorites. Afterwards we took a spin on the Flight of the Hippogriff roller coaster. Then it is time to head over to Universal Studios.

I can't think beyond much other than how tired I seem

Baby Boo (c)Gotta Pixel collab

Is it old age or is it something more? I believe it is just a matter of getting old. But boy, did I enjoy the ride here. So if being tired is the price, I think I don't mind paying it.

Vacation - June 12 Part 1

I don't know how we made it to the Islands Restaurant so early, but this is the most alert the kids will be for the next couple of mornings. After a hearty breakfast buffet for me and the kids and bacon for Pan, we rode the boat over to Islands of Adventure. Since we were staying at a park hotel, we were able to get into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter an hour early. Still it was crowded.

You're the best

Pan and I have been married over 20+ years now. Guess one could say the honeymoon is over, but we are happy. One thing we have always told one another is "You're the best!" There is no set time for it or a reason. It just seems to happen when we are connected somehow. The response is always "That's because I'm married to the best!" It's nice to have something that has been a part of your marriage since the beginning.

Vacation - June 11 Part 3

Once we got back to the room and changed, we headed down to Jake's American Bar & Grill for dinner. Indy with his milkshake in hand and The Princess texting once again. I think she had been going through withdrawal pains of not having it available all afternoon. We are all tuckered out and ready to sit back and relax.

There is no such thing as too much Indy

Welcome to Paradise (c)Jennifer Barrette

It is surprising how quiet a house gets without Indy. When the Princess is here, you wouldn't know it, but you definitely do when the boy is. Been a quiet morning. I think I will spend the day playing video games. Mew is up to level 100 so I'm going to take a break from B/W. Tomorrow the new Lego video games comes out and Pan has pre-ordered it. Yeah. I just have to get it completed before Indy gets back so I can help him out.

Vacation - June 11 Part 2

After getting settled in and tickets for the kids purchased, it was time to head over to the park. First stop, of course, Hogsmead and hopefully, lunch at the Three Broomsticks. No such luck though. Next stop was back to the Lost Continent and a pager for the Mythos restaurant. While waiting for the seating, the kids had to have a smoothie. After lunch it was over to Jurassic Park and the River Adventure water ride. We started something here so next up was Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges. And did we ever get soaked. Being as we were now so wet, it was only logical to try out Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls. Now it is time to head back to the hotel and a change of clothes.

Spaghetti loaded with meat & mushrooms

Welcome to Paradise (c)Jennifer Barrette

As you can surmise we are back from Orlando. We had a marvelous time and each day now you will get to see a little bit of our fun. And I think 4 days is just about long enough. Even the kids were ready to leave.

Vacation - June 11 Part 1

Starting out at 4 in the morning meant The Princess and Indy slept most of the way. Actually The Princess slept the entire way with Indy waking periodically for something to drink and eat. Even I dosed sporadically as I had only gotten an hour and a half of sleep the night before. Once we made it to the Royal Pacific Hotel, the kids and I sat in the courtyard while Pan checked us in. Surprisingly enough they had a room available for us. But once we got up there the room was in shambles, television still on, ironing board and iron up, bed not made, etc. Our bellhop, Andrew called down and got us another room.

I am already looking forward to getting him back

This past week has been energetic and non-stop. I will be posting more about our trip to Universal in the next couple of days. Just now I have to get over the depression of handing Indy over to his other grandparents. I know he will have a good time and enjoy himself, but it doesn't make it any easier on me :(

Maybe The Princess can spend time over on days I don't have to work so we can do things together.

Too much from the Universal stores

This was written in November of 2006 and not posted.

Tuesday Tribulations
Two for Tuesday: Tell us about two memories from two years ago.

I think you are just pushing my buttons here, LOL. I can't remember much of what happened yesterday and you are wanting me to remember what happened two years ago.

That was the year that both boys were home; not at the same time mind you. But they both were home for a short while.

The other I recall very vividly. That was the year my father died. I love him very much (you listening dad). I spent the last night with him giving him his meds every couple of hours, talking to and listening.

Confident about myself... totally

Wrote this some time ago (like six years) and don't know why it didn't get posted. There are several drafts I need to post, I think.

Tribulations of Indisms

Indiana B has reached that age where he really knows what is going on around him and has really started to articulate.

"Indy what are you doing?" "Nothing" (immediately you know he is up to no good.)
"No, No, No" while shaking his finger at you (just started that one and have just found out he learned it from The Princess.)
Wookie = bear. There is no discussion about this. He will win.
"Robot" means we better be playing Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic game.
When you are handed a sword you had better be prepared to duel.
"Come here" get your rear in gear I have something to show you.
"Eeek spider" BANG. Some sugar ant just bit the dust.
Marty = "Madagascar"
Wild = "The Wild"
Cars = "Cars"
Boot = "Dora Explorer"

Anxiety, Nerves, Depression and I still don't know where time went

Whimsey (c) A+ Designs

One week left and he will be gone for 4 weeks. We will get him back for about a week and a half before he has to return home for school. This week is all about having fun.

I haven't said much about The Princess. Frankly because I haven't seen to much of her. She spends most of her time at her dad's which is understandable. But she has been babysitting for me these last two weeks on the two days I have to work. Hard to believe she is already old enough to be doing that. In just a few short years, she'll be wanting to borrow my truck.

Pan is the one, if you don't count my mother

Ashlyn's Love - Snowflake Beach Designs

More laundry to do. House to clean. Keep busy. That's my mantra this weekend. Keep busy and you won't think. Maybe I'll forget the house, forget the laundry (okay that I can't forget) and just spend my whole day with my favorite little man.

Blueberry-Banana Pancakes without the bananas or blueberries

Ashlyn's Love - Snowflake Beach Designs

Pancakes. Indiana Jones Legos II. Some scrapbooking. Indiana Jones Legos II. Lunch of guacamole made with homemade salsa of my own design. Indiana Jones Legos II. 3D documentary of prehistoric sea monsters. Indiana Jones Legos II. Blogging. Indiana Jones Legos II. Somewhere in there I got a load of laundry done, dishes cleaned and listened to my two sisters text one another. Another reason I won't get an iphone. When I reply to a text it just goes to the person that sent it. Not everyone on the list.

Tonight... Best Buy to pick up John Carter, Chili's for dinner and maybe Old Navy to get Indy some more shorts or jeans. He has already outgrown nearly every pair his mother sent down with him. He eats to much, I think.

Pens, video gaming, 3D television, cell phone, automobile

Aquamarine (c)Created by Jill

Bad days tend to make one crankier than they should be. Today was one of those days. The culmination of bad was when I spilled water on the stove top and it set off the electronic ignition. No matter what I did it just kept on going. Finally I looked up online what steps I should take. Shut off the breaker. Easy enough... until you realized that you can't reach the breaker box. Since this had been going on for over 30 minutes, I felt it was time to call Pan. He sure made me feel like it was my fault, adding to the stress and crankiness.
Now you realize that soon after the call and his declaration that he was coming home, it shut off. Call him back and tell him not to come that any problems remaining could wait until he got home. My guess is that it needed to dry out a great deal.
Tomorrow has to be better right?

Sometimes I regret not pursuing astronomy

Aquamarine (c)Created by Jill

Pancakes, turkey bacon, applesauce and yogurt for breakfast. After a bit of a rest the boy and I headed to the pool for an hour and a half. Once we walked back it was nearly time for lunch so we headed to McDonalds for him to have a bite to eat and to play in their playroom. Half an hour later found us across the street so he could have a banana split for dessert. Back home and video games, which he insisted I play with him. I looked up the cheats. Made it much easier for me. Was so glad when it was time to start dinner.

The sad reality is that he will be gone soon

Basic Beauty (c) Silvia Romeo and Ageless (c) A+ designs
Another day at work and all my hard earned money goes to The Princess for babysitting. I keep telling myself it is good experience for her and that I'm less than 5 minutes away and her other grandmother is even closer. And it is only for two days a week and less than 4 hours each day. I think I'm getting old.

The family together last Saturday

Basic Beauty (c) Silvia Romeo & Ageless (c) A+ designs

The Princess will be over today sometime. Schedule change again. As long as she is here to babysit on Tuesday and Thursday. This will be the last week she has to do it for a month and a half. Time has really passed this summer and it is only the first week of June.

Today I sing to Indy and he sings to me

Winter's Home (c)Laitha's Designs & Waiting for You (c)Laitha's Designs

I know the post titles don't make much sense to anyone, but they are the responses to 365 questions which is about keeping a 5 year journal by Tami Taylor, wherein you write one sentence to the question.

And though I don't normally write more about them, this is such a wonderful question. Indy and I sing to one another all the time. Making up our songs about how much we love one another or what we are doing or etc. We see who can sing the loudest, who can sing the softest and who can make up the most outrageous song. So much fun bundled in the body of an 8 year old boy.

Today shopping for food, shopping for red green house supplies. Pan finished the red green house and my tomato plants, bell pepper and basil are safely ensconced within. I have 4 little tomatoes and 4 little bell peppers. Can't wait for them to ripen so I can have them for dinner

Winter's Home (c)Laitha's Designs & Waiting for You (c)Laitha's Designs

Cat is going to be seriously hurt. Six in the morning and he decides I need to get up so proceeds to dig nails into my side.

Going to be going on a roadtrip for the day. Spend time with family. Give Indy a chance to get out and run, run, run.

Diabetic Living magazine has a great recipe for carrot cupcakes. Not for children, at least not Indy. But I find them tasty and moist. Had Asian Chicken from their cookbook for dinner. Steamed asparagus and carrots dizzled with soy/ginger sauce, yum.

Tinkerbell Visa

Twinkle Toes (c) A+ Designs

Too much sun yesterday. Red with headache and scratchy throat. Hope Indy isn't feeling the same. But he is still asleep so he will probably feel better when he gets up. Will keep me hopping, I am sure. Maybe I can convince him to play a video game so I can catch up on Pokemon. Keeping fingers crossed that I get a Mew today. Only have 16 more to get.

Of course, while he is still asleep, I should be working on another scrapbook page or two. Oh, oh, oh, I can have him find the spiders on the pages. He should like that. Have to finish with The Princess' book so that I can get started on his. Would like to have them both done in time to publish before Christmas.

Off to see the wizard.

Leaving them at home while I went to work

Twinkle Toes (c) A+ Designs

Work, home and miscommunications. When I walked through the door, The Princess asked me a question. Since she asks me the same thing all the time, I just presumed it was the same without asking her to repeat it. Told her if it was okay with dad, then I didn't have a problem with it. She calls. Okay with him. I tell Indy to get is bathing suit on, I get mine on. Come out. Why doesn't The Princess have hers on? "Tink, I asked you for a smoothie." Duh!

Not going to change. Make the smoothie. Gather everyone in the car. Go to bank. Drop The Princess off. Head to Sonic's for lunch. Stop at the pool for 2 hours. Go home. Watch cartoons. Make dinner which was only so-so. Not much flavor. Pan liked. Pan and Indy do his worksheets. Tink takes a break. One hour of video game. Thirty minutes of some cartoon. Good thing tv on timer, Tink fell asleep.

Reading, Knitting & Pokemon collecting

A Typical Day - Created by Jill
Late breakfast and back to bed the two went. Finally the Princess arose to go off with her other grandmother, but Indy just wasn't going to budge. When he did rise, we played a hidden object game and then LOTR Monopoly. I had more money, but he had more property before we ended it to have a lunch of Boca cheeseburgers, applesauce and Doritos.

In the summer, snuggles with Indy

A Typical Day - Created by Jill

Another day, another dollar. Short day, rush home to take them to the pool. Then back to the pool when Pan arrives. Afterwards by red green house may get finished.

62 & counting at level 100

Endearing (c) Dancing Princess
Morning has come, she is gone. Waiting for the call to tell me she got there safely although that will be hours ahead. Young'un still asleep, must get him up for Star Wars pancakes which actually came out this morning, Yah.

May you all have a blessed Memorial Day and remember those who gave so much for us.

King Kong is music to my ears

Endearing (c) Dancing Princess

It has been a great day. Indy if fun to have around. I have subscribed to Education.com and have downloaded all of their 3rd grade workbooks so that we can work on his math and vocabulary every day after dinner. Today we also included science when when discussed sound waves produced on wine glasses and brought out every different type of crystal and glass wine glasses I had. Then we looked it up to see why. We also talked about the fact that glass is actually a liquid. So in the space of an hour we did math, vocab and science and had a good time in doing it.

I really wish I was in bed

Sea Spray (c) Spinky Dink

Oh I know I shouldn't worry, but I do. My preferences are the same. Drive when there is less traffic and get there early. I just can't sleep though when she is driving such a long way at night.

I had a night free of dreams

Sea Spray (c) Spinky Dink
Today should be an exciting day, if only I could break free from the house. Our local electric company is working on the underground wires and has me blocked in. Later I shall go shopping to prepare for company. Yes, they will be here soon for the summer. Today should be an exciting day.

My time was wisely used at work, but not at home

Zoey's Wardrobe (c) Amy Crabtree Bleser plus others

I am in the process of "finally" making baby books of my grandchildren for their mother. Hopefully I will have them finished and published by Christmas.
