Tuesday night took Indy to see the new Star Trek Into Darkness movie. We didn't have to wait long to get in to get seated but during that short period of time Indy let me take pictures of him schmoozing with Sully and Mike at Monsters U and then being blasted out of the Enterprise as it was descending to a planet because of damage and then taking on John Harrison.

Up close & personal
The cat and I go through phases. He annoys me, I annoy him. This is one of the "I annoy him" phases. Close up photos. As close as I can get without him taking a swipe at my camera. He wasn't happy about getting his photo taken. In fact, he reminds me a lot of Indy in that respect.

ThorCat
He stole my kitchen towel, so I attached it to his collar. He thought he was something walking around the house with his very own super-cape. He is so weird. On another note...Daughter and Indy came in yesterday, so I will probably be lax in posting on the blog for the next couple of months. But never despair, I will be back.

Reusable People
Pan and I were at dinner the other night and talking about general things in our lives. Surprisingly enough, even after 20+ years, we still can find tidbits of our lives that we had not shared before. This night he was telling me about houses he had seen.
First was the one when he was young. A house downtown was being remodeled. It was an older home 2- or 3-story home and some of the window shudders were on the ground being painted while others were in the process of being placed back up. Not real interesting, huh? That was until he told me that later that year when they were traveling up north, he saw the same house in the same state of repair.
Then there was the house when he was in college. He went to college in Atlanta and he said there was a house a couple of blocks from the apartment that looked just like his parents house. Even to the extent that they used the same Christmas lights. Okay, everyone who decorates probably uses nearly the same kind. So what? Except one year his dad changed out the multi-colored lights for all blue and the house in Atlanta did the same thing....in the same year.
Okay, now it is getting a little eerie. Pan believes that the world is reusing things for his benefit (I don't know that I would use benefit, but....) and that is why when he meets people he is sure he has seen before that they are just reused people.

One Down
Well I dipped into the stash and last weekend started and completed this summer sweater for the Princess. It was fun, easy and really enjoyable to do. Especially since we are in the midst of watching the original Dark Shadows on DVD. Some things I would really like to learn with knitting are:
- Better seam stitching
- Continental style
- Double knitting
- Working with more than one color which ties with
- Fair Isle

Yarn shop?
Last month also found us back at Pan's parents house, cleaning out some yarns and crafts. It was his dad's early Christmas present to me. This is what I came back with. Who knew that a month later I would be back over there organizing the back room for a yard sale and coming back with twice as much. I really need to invest in yarn ball winder. I'm getting a cramp in my hand, LOL.

Garden Party layout
Last month, our Ladies group held a Kentucky Derby Garden Party at the home of one of the members. We had such a great time and there were plenty of hats to show off, as well as really good food, plenty of wine and margaritas. We really need to make this an annual event.

The procession....starts
The wedding procession starts. Since I was sitting to MiLady's back I wasn't able to get much from her side of the procession, but at least I got something. It was so grand to see everyone all dressed up in their garb to celebrate the day.

A Viking family affair
The whole family gets together for a group photo with the groom. Am so glad my sister, her husband and mom got to make it. I know it made it special for Nuke to have family surrounding him on his and MiLady's day.

Ringing in the Wedding
Back to the graphic novel for a while. This time with a picture of their wedding rings. Nuke's is titanium and wood, while MiLady's has moons and rabbits running around it. Beautiful set.

After Grad Cook-Out
After the graduation (and I don't know why we didn't do it earlier), Nuke stopped off at the store to pick up all the fixings for a cook-out. Yes, our cabin even came with a gas grill on the deck. Of course, we didn't have much light over the grill so Pan had to guesstimate how cooked everything was. He did good. Oh, I remember why we didn't get the food earlier, we were going to go to a restaurant. We spent the evening telling stories of days gone by and seeing who could embarrass who the most. Mostly, I just sat back and listened, mostly.

Post-Grad Pictures
The obligatory post-graduation pictures with family and friends. And, of course, the one nut who has to make silly. If Indy looks awkward, it is because he is trying to hide the ds lite behind his back.
