From Tribulations to Advice

Blog Prompt: What is the best advice you ever received? What was the situation, and did the advice help?

I was ahead of my time, lol. Please see Tribulations of Love and Hate for my answer if you have not already done so.

I have not received any other advise that was as profound and far reaching as that.

Thanks for that advice again, Tink. I loved that post the first time around and it's just as good this time!

That was wonderful and beautifully written. It made me cry. Acknowledging those negative feelings are so important.

My father has two sayings that I try to apply when I am having a tough situation. They are "Piss or get off the pot", and "Wish in one hand, defecate in the other, and see which hand fills up first". Both of them remind me that sometimes you just have to move on, even if everything is just 'crappy'. Not really tear-jerker advice, but it's gotten me through some rough times.

From my Dad, 'Pull yourself away from the world and look back on your problem and in the big scheme, you will see, it is completely insignificant.' It pulls me through every time. Everything is just a blip on my radar now. I deal, but try to keep it all in perspective.
